GREATER ORTONVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE JANUARY 6, 2004 MINUTES

Both the minutes and the treasurer's reports were approved.

Overview of Year 2004
Russ Govette highlighted the new reporting features that the Chamber will provide to membership during 2004:
• Better financial reporting, with comparison to the 2004 budget.
• Promotion of benefits to membership such as discounts and seminars.
• Detailed minutes to be provided at meetings, with a summary of minutes for publication.

Cookbooks
Any cookbook money should be sent to Linda Moskal (2004 treasurer). Any member that wishes to have cookbooks to sell may contact Russ Govette (2004 president), and Russ will deliver the cookbooks.

2004 Calendar
Russ Govette prepared and displayed a 2004 calendar, with the various Chamber functions highlighted:
• January Mixer
• February Budget prepared and presented to membership
• April Business Expo § June Golf Outing and Creek Fest § July Fireworks
• September Septemberfest
• December Christmas in the Village

Annual Mixer
A committee was formed to present ideas to the Board at their next meeting for the annual Chamber Mixer. The committee consists of:
• Gary Hintz, IGD Solutions
• Tracy Dayton, ReLiv International
• Susan Reddy, Creative Memories

Sock Monkey
Zoe Pearson highlighted the upcoming Sock Monkey Contest at the library to take place February 14, 2004. Zoe had flyers on hand, describing the event, and let membership know that kits for prepare a Sock Monkey were available at the library for $5.

Creek Fest Committee
Lois Robbins announced that the Creek Fest Committee was forming, and invited any Chamber member to join. Contact Lois for information at (248) 969-2518.

BGO
Fred Waybrant announced that any non-profit organization, such as the Chamber, may have a concession stand at the AAU Basketball Tournaments. Games will be held in Ortonville on 2/7, 2/15, 3/6, 3/7, 4/3 and 4/4. Fred noted that cookbooks could be sold at these tournaments. Saturday games are from 8 AM to 8 PM; Sunday games are 8 AM to 2 PM. Fred also provider a flyer for any Chamber member that wishes to sponsor the event
